About Guy Calaf,
Documentarian, Humanist, Aesthete Guy began documenting the world driven by his interest in humanity and the strong connections between people. Since the early days of his career, Guy focused on documenting conflicts, spending years in Iraq and Afghanistan and undertaking assignments in Somalia, Eastern Congo and Darfur.
In these environments he learned to cherish and protect the rarity of beauty and life, focusing through his personal vision on love and harmony, in even the most difficult circumstances. His 2004 assignment for Le Figaro’ Magazine on school children in Darfur gave him worldwide recognition and introduced him to the world of Magazine Assignments. Between 2006 and 2008 Guy was a contract photographer for the Italian edition of Vanity Fair where, as a resident of Ethiopia, he explored many of the African continents social dynamics, from women’s issues in Somalia to the flamboyant Nigerian film industry thriving in Lagos.
Born in Florence, Italy and raised between Milan and New York, Guy has demonstrated through his work to have an extraordinary appreciation for aesthetics. He has extensively covered fashion in world capitals and continues to pursue fine art driven projects focused on showing precious beauty in underprivileged environments.
Guy brings to the world of wedding photography his profound empathic approach towards his subjects, creating an environment where emotions spontaneously blossom.

Guy’s award recognitions include several Pictures of the Year International and the Inclusion in the prestigious PDN’s Photo Annual.
