Meredith and Rich: A Fall Wedding at the Bowery Hotel
photography by: Jake McBride
The rustic, elegant setting of the Bowery Hotel in lower Manhattan was the perfect location for Meredith and Rich’s fall New York City themed wedding. They had many friends and family members traveling to New York for the celebration and wanted to incorporate iconic New York City details into their day. The couple treated out of town guests with gift bags that included snacks from Dean & Deluca, Dylan’s Candybar, a donation to the Central Park Conservancy, and a DVD of Sex & the City (the bride works for HBO). And, they arrived in style at the Bowery Hotel in a classic yellow taxi cab. The wedding was so stunning that the talented editors at one of our favorite wedding blogs, Style Me Pretty, couldn’t help but take notice. Beautiful burgundy silk dupioni table linens and lush purple and green floral arrangements paid tribute to the fall season, and green suckling pears were used as place card holders.
Personal touches made the evening even more unique. Each type of wine served had it’s own story related to the couple and their travels, and there were cards at each table that explained their significance. The Bowery Hotel’s Tuscan-rustic food and decor influenced the evening as well--the meal was served family-style and an antique gelato cart was sourced from a Manhattan prop house. Instead of a wedding cake, mini-desserts and cookies from the famous New York City bakery Eleni’s were served.
