New York Public Library Shoot

written by: Christian Oth
A few months ago I received a phone call from the New York Public Library. The library have been using the image below for their own pr purposes for several years now and wanted something more "updated". The directive was to show the front of the building in a similar manner and well, pretty much change the content somewhat.

As this shot has been seen by many and been heralded as one of the most beautiful wedding images by some. So, I was quite nervous about the challenge. Naturally so...

As this was going to involve hiring a model and finding some amazing dresses I enlisted Jacqueline Weppner from Merci New York who is amazing with anything that involves style. After some back and forth we pulled dresses from Gabriella Bridal.

In the coming days  I'll share the new image we came up with and a bit of the behind-the-scenes look of how we went about creating a new shot for the library, including how we got Matthew Robbins involved to style the shoot!

Stay tuned.

I'm so excited to see the final result! This has been one of my fave pics of all time. If I remember correctly its the image that made me start following Christian Oth! ;)

Looking forward to seeing the final images, Christian. Quite a team you had behind it. Not sure how you're going to top the brilliance behind the above shot...when I think of your work, I think of this signature image! Excited to see what's up next.

One of my favorite images as well. I don't remember what magazine I first saw this in but I do remember not turning the page for a very long time! Congratulations and can't wait to see the next image, i'm sure it will be equally stunning!
