We are happy to see Hayley and Alex's chic Tribeca Rooftop wedding featured on Style Me Pretty. The design and detail is simply stunning! The one thing Hayley knew she wanted was yellow flowers and she certainly got them, complemented by a beautiful shade of blue. She says, "To us, a good time means great food, fun music, good and plentiful drinks, and the company of friends and family." We were honored to be apart of this perfect day!

We are very excited to see Megan Ferguson and Nico Evers-Swindell's Southern wedding featured in
GARDEN & GUN magazine. For the Southerners reading this, the magazine needs no introduction. We all had a chuckle when we first heard of the magazine title. For the ones of you who have never heard of it, better check it out if you're interested in anything relating to the South.
This was one fantastic wedding. Full of love fun and a high-kicking contest with only one contestant as evidenced below. I just love the beauty of it.

We are starting this Wednesday morning with a rehearsal dinner to beat the bands. This summer, we captured a full weekend of charm and laughter at a destination wedding in picturesque Martha's Vineyard. The couple took cues from the local infamous fare of Lobster and had a proper claw crunching evening. Sunflowers, checkered table clothes and mason-jar-drinking-glasses topped off the evening in true Massachusetts style.

Twah and Tim wanted a mini-destination with a location that represented both of them. The North Fork provided a perfect beach setting with a mix of city glamour. The couple used grey, burlap and soft peaches for their color scheme.
The bride walked down the the Isle to Michael Buble’s “Everything”. The start of the ceremony set the mood and expectation of the whole day…fun, relaxed, personal but classically elegant.

All weddings that I photograph bring their own joy and excitement. Most recent wedding that I shot in the Hamptons was an epitome of joy, beauty and exquisite style! The bride, Raina Dawn, is a wedding planner that I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with for several years. I was truly honored when she asked me to photograph her wedding at the Wolffer Estate in the Hamptons. I must say it was a pure bliss shooting a wedding planner’s wedding!

The couple got ready at a private home in Sag Harbor and then headed over to the Wolffer Estate to get married in the Vineyard. What an amazing backdrop and equally amazing attention to details on Raina’s part. She thought of everything, which you can see below. The cocktail hour was perfectly located next to the vines and the reception was on the terrace, creating stunning visuals, and an environment full of elegance and serenity.
Raina and Guy are the perfect couple. I am so happy for Raina to have found Guy. And Guy, you’re one lucky guy! I witnessed their love and happiness firsthand on their wedding day, and it was pure magic. Now, it's my pleasure to share their magic with you. Enjoy!

When Jessica and Andrew got engaged, they knew that for their wedding there was no place like home. Jessica grew up on her family’s horse farm in Brookeville, Long Island, and the couple realized that the lush green lawn and white picket fences would provide the perfect setting for an outdoor celebration. With the help of top wedding planner Joann Gregoli, they were able to transform their farmyard into an elegant and romantic venue. In keeping with their surroundings, the table settings and floral bouquets were a mix of organic plants and vegetation--pristine white flowers, purple kale, and vibrant green succulents, with tall canopies of golden branches interspersed throughout. Guests unwound to the smooth, upbeat melodies of a 1920‘s style jazz band or snapped candid pictures with Polaroid cameras placed around the venue. A softly draped tent kept the setting intimate, while twinkling lights stretched above.

For an engagement shoot with this cool New York couple, Michael Falco wanted to photograph them in an environment that would reflect their unique sense of style. In true New York fashion, they each wore distinctive black and white cocktail attire--a quirky plaid tie and fedora for him, and an edgy party frock and sky-high heels for her. Using the city as their backdrop, they started off in the streets of Soho, pausing in front of historic spots like Fanelli's Cafe for a quick kiss. Michael included great little details in the background, like the bikes leaning against the iron-front buildings and the cafe sign to convey a downtown vibe. Although the area was crowded with shoppers and pedestrians, Michael used a long lens to get in close and create an intimate feel, while cropping out unnecessary distractions.

Yesterday we shared a peek inside the winter issue of Martha Stewart Weddings featuring this classic city wedding shot by Shawn Connell, and today we have even more photographs of this gorgeous celebration. Angela and Eric, a New York couple, planned this absolutely timeless affair. With a nod to tradition, the bride wore her grandmother’s beautiful wedding gown from 1944 for their ceremony at the elegant Cathedral of St. Patrick on Fifth Avenue. All-white accessories and decor like the bride’s elbow-length white gloves, large round balloons and table centerpieces made from frothy cotton and hydrangeas delicately accented the winter season.

With the holiday season in full swing, it’s hard not to feel excited about the first flurries of snow. When it snows in the city, the soft drifts always muffle the noise of traffic, leaving a peaceful, contented atmosphere. The beautiful white flakes make everything they touch look fresh and new. A winter white wedding can make a stunning statement in photographs. Subtle contrasts in texture add visual interest, while juxtaposition of a cold outdoor landscape with a warm interior can make a venue look especially warm and inviting. I hope you enjoy a few of these images of a very intimate wedding where the couple's priority was to get lots of pictures around the city.

Lauren and Stephen planned a grand and decadent wedding, selecting Cipriani on 42nd street in New York as their ballroom of choice. Dramatic black goblets and an old-fashioned birdcage for cards and gifts offset the tall classical columns and romantic lighting, creating a setting reminiscent of the Italian Renaissance. Lauren didn’t know about the surprise that Stephen had in store for her until they got ready for their portrait session. When everyone was in place, Stephen handed out artfully crafted masquerade masks to each member of their wedding party--black for the groomsmen and gold with glitter and feather plumes for the bridesmaids.

When Jennifer and Scott got engaged they decided to have a romantic, oceanside wedding, and the Ocean House at Watch Hill, Rhode Island was a beautiful spot for their east coast celebration. The combination of classic formality and modern romanticism struck the perfect balance, creating a strong design theme throughout. Jennifer’s gown beautifully echoed the soft, foamy waves of the ocean, and the classic striped awnings on the bathhouses and cheery place cards bordered in red added fun vintage touches. The slightly overcast day created beautiful, muted light, resulting in these stunning photographs of the event.

A small but intimate outdoor ceremony at the foot of the Grand Teton Mountains was just what Heather and Robert were looking for, and Amangani Resort and the Lost Creek Ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming provided the perfect setting. With a guest list of just thirty close family members and friends, they were able to invite everyone to enjoy a week-long vacation in Jackson Hole, spent participating in their favorite outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing and rafting.

Kristen and Shawn love spending time in the Hamptons during the summer, so when Shawn proposed, the couple decided that a Long Island getaway would be the perfect spot for their nuptials. With Kristen originally hailing from New Orleans and Shawn from Boulder, Colorado, this New York City couple wanted a beautiful setting that was close to their home but would also be a good compromise for their out of town guests. They were struck by the lush greenery and gorgeous white hydrangeas at the Wolffer Estate vineyard and they settled on the spot immediately.

When Darcy and Matt got engaged, they knew immediately that they were going to have a unique celebration that would pair their professional talents (they are both artists) with their love of food and entertaining. Matt works as a Graphic Designer and Darcy is a Fine Artist, so it was important to them to include lots of thoughtful design details throughout their wedding day. With Darcy's creative input, Matt designed absolutely everything that was printed for the wedding which made for a very personalized and special event.
Blue Hill at Stone Barns turned out to be the perfect setting for their romantic garden celebration. They wanted an outdoor space with amazing food, and Blue Hill’s sustainable farming and incredible service appealed to them as well. The location itself was so naturally beautiful that they didn’t have to mold it to a specific theme. “Instead”, Darcy says “I wanted the color palate to highlight and explore the relationships between the different elements of the wedding: intimate romance, and elegant gardens and farms with a soft but clean edge”.

The rustic, elegant setting of the Bowery Hotel in lower Manhattan was the perfect location for Meredith and Rich’s fall New York City themed wedding. They had many friends and family members traveling to New York for the celebration and wanted to incorporate iconic New York City details into their day. The couple treated out of town guests with gift bags that included snacks from Dean & Deluca, Dylan’s Candybar, a donation to the Central Park Conservancy, and a DVD of Sex & the City (the bride works for HBO). And, they arrived in style at the Bowery Hotel in a classic yellow taxi cab. The wedding was so stunning that the talented editors at one of our favorite wedding blogs, Style Me Pretty, couldn’t help but take notice.

Laura and Ernesto know how to throw a great party, so when it came to their wedding, what they wanted most was for their guests to have fun. They chose classic, elegant Capitale in New York City as their reception venue, both for its grand size (it could accommodate all of their guests) and because they had many people coming in from out of town and wanted a space that felt “very New York”. With the expert guidance of Jung Lee from Fete, they were able to create the wedding of their dreams--a perfect marriage of modern style and fun personal touches.

Alison and Joe, a New York City couple, fell in love with the idea of having their wedding in this charming South Carolina location. Alison graduated from Duke University, and she and Joe often vacationed in the Carolinas, stopping by to visit her grandparents in nearby Hilton Head. When they got engaged, a family friend suggested they take a look at the Inn at Palmetto Bluff. They knew immediately when they saw it that it was the place for them. Alison loved the simple elegance of the Waterside Chapel and the natural beauty of the resort. The venue itself was so stunning that she didn’t have to do much in the way of flowers or decor. She was initially concerned about having a wedding in South Carolina in July--can we say humidity?--but the day turned out to be a beautiful 85 degrees, just right for an outdoor cocktail hour.
Alison Mayfield from our studio photographed this wedding, and the bride had this to say about her work: “I was drawn to Alison as a photographer because I had seen some of her photographs and they were like works of art. They were beautiful in and of themselves. I thought, how amazing would it be if that were me and my family?” She loved the romantic look of the photographs that Alison took through the Spanish moss below.
