Communication with Your Wedding Photographer
Optimal communication between the photographer and the couple is a must. As photographers who have shot all types of events, we’ve found that the most successful events always have seamless communication between the planner, the couple and the photographer. The best way to kick this off is with an in-person meeting. Please don’t try to get to know your photographer by emailing, texting, DMing, Snapchatting or through Slack—it’s best to actually sit down face-to-face. We understand that couples may not be located in New York City, in which case we prefer Skyping or Facetiming.
You may be wondering why this meeting is important. Photography is creative, psychological and very intimate. It’s all about building trust and getting to know someone. We find that this initial meeting helps with both!
After the in-person meeting, there’s usually a lull in communication until we reconnect 7 to 14 days before the wedding. At this point, some time will have passed between the initial meeting and engagement session. Trust us, everything flows so much better if this catch-up happens!
